2005 Conference Highlights
Becoming a Whole-Hearted Leader
The 2005 Minnesota ACE Network Conference was held on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7, at the Minneapolis Community & Technical College. The conference focused on helping women to discover how to become a whole-hearted leader within their institutions.
The conference started on Thursday afternoon with pre-conference offerings including an invitation-only training session for Institutional Representatives and exploring individual strengths through use of the online Gallup "Strengths Finder" assessment profile. A social hour at Café Lurcat and the Dinner & Evening Gala preceded the evening's Keynote Address delivered by Julie Allen, the President and Founder of Catalyst for Change.
Friday’s conference captured the essence of whole-hearted leadership. The day started a light breakfast and opportunity to network with other women leaders throughout the state. The first major event of the morning was a Public Relations Professionals Panel which focused on how to promote ourselves within our institutions with advice from PR pros in higher education, banking, and industry. Concurrent morning and afternoon sessions featured topics including: Whole-Hearted Work Teams, Coaching Circles, Landscapes of Sister Institutions, and Speed Networking. A focal point of recent MN ACE Annual Conferences included a Women in Leadership Panel during the luncheon.
